Carl Weingarten is an American guitarist, photographer, writer and founder of the independent music label Multiphase Records. Regarded as “one of the best indie musicians working today” by the San Francisco Chronicle, he is mostly known for his atmospheric sound and use of the slide guitar and Dobro. Weingarten has played a significant role in the progressive underground music scene for over 30 years, recording both solo and collaborative instrumental albums with artists internationally. His influences include such diverse artists as Ennio Morricone, Brian Eno, Terje Rypdal, Carl Orff, Antonio Vivaldi, Miles Davis, Tom Waits and Robert Johnson among others. Carl’s instrumental music has been described as Cinematic, and his innovative recordings have been widely commended.
