Simon Cooper’s interest in music already begins as a child. After an inspirational grounding in many forms of music, Simon finds his true voice as a composer and producer of atmospheric, visual music.
His debut release for Oreade Music, Romantic Moods, is released in 1992 and introduces a blend of mystical sound textures, compelling rhythms and traditional instruments, a style that he would develop as his trademark sound over the years. His second release, Gemini, was released in 1994 as part of the successful Zodiac series. In 1997, Simon begins working on what would become one of his most important and inspirational projects. Music for Mother and Baby, released in 1997, is a unique project for parents and babies. Together with the sequel Music of the Womb and Nature Baby, these albums continue to be incredibly popular and receive much acclaim from parents, care takers, health professionals and therapists worldwide. Throughout 2004 and 2005 Oreade Music and Simon undertake an exciting partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity. For every CD of the Music for Mother and Baby Series sold in the U.K., a donation is made to Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.
