A Little About What Makes This Track Special:

Louis’ new single, “Iridescence” was created as a birthday present for his good friend, Grammy-winner Nancy Rumbel. In addition to piano, electronic keyboard, and percussion composed and recorded by Louis, Nancy composed and recorded the memorable oboe melody.

In building the track, Louis used a wide array of percussion instruments including a “wine bottle xylophone” (made from bottles he and his wife “collected” during lockdown, as well as his antique Deagan marimba, antique Constantinople K-Zildjian cymbal, and other small instruments from his collection, including a scrap metal bushing he uses as a bell.

Louis Anthony deLise is an American composer, pianist, and percussionist. His beautifully poignant music is described as “Post-Genre,” as it often features the juxtaposition of disparate musical elements, including serial technique, frequently changing meters, the urgency and drive of rock and roll, and the lush harmonies of 1960s Cool Jazz.

Louis has garnered many awards for his writing, including an award from the National Flute Association for a recent concerto entitled, Salone del Astor. He has also arranged and conducted on hit records for Grammy-winning pop star Patti LaBelle, and has written orchestral arrangements for Grammy-winner Peter Nero.

Nancy Rumbel is one of music’s most successful and enduring instrumentalists and composers. She has recorded with many important musicians, including David Lanz, The Paul Winter Consort, and guitarist Eric Tingstad, with whom she formed the Grammy Award-winning duo, Tingstad and Rumbel.

What the music industry is saying about “IridescenceIntimate, intricate, and captivating, Iridescence charms, delights, and entertains the very soul. – Jan Mawdesley, Blue Wolf Reviews

Captivating and brilliant, just like its name…mesmerizing and tantalizing in its ever-changing melodic hues. – Dyan Garris, NewAgeCD.com and ZMR
